CEO
Fender Musical Instruments Corporation
Andy Mooney is CEO for Fender Music Instruments Corporation (FMIC), the world’s leading guitar and musical instruments manufacturer, transforming music history since 1946. Since joining Fender as CEO in June 2015, Andy has shepherded myriad key product launches, resulting in exponential growth. His focus is on galvanizing the company’s digital approach in order to speak directly to the next generation of guitarists. Throughout Andy’s career, he has consistently exemplified what it means to be a modern maverick, disruptor, and trailblazer -- though he prefers to simply describe himself as a “guitar geek with big company experience.” That “big company experience” includes Nike, where Andy worked for 20 years, starting in the UK as CFO before segueing into Marketing and eventually the role of CMO in the United States. Andy headed the $3 billion global apparel organization, overseeing all things Nike and Jordan, while implementing legendary advertising campaigns. Andy also spent 11 years at Disney, ultimately becoming the Chairman of Disney Consumer Products. Among other achievements, he personally envisioned and spearheaded the launch of the monumental Disney Princess Franchise, recently valued at over $4 billion. A true enigma, music fan, and guitar aficionado with over 50 years guitar-playing experience, Andy is just as quick to quote Metallica lyrics as he is to espouse his love for iconic brands. His passions fuel everything he does and continues to lead him towards innovation at every turn.
