Zuora Honored as a Top Corporate Philanthropist

Zuora Honored as a Top Corporate Philanthropist

We’re proud to announce that Zuora has been named a Top Corporate Philanthropist by the San Francisco Business Times. The list is a huge honor that features companies from around the Bay Area who give substantial amounts to local nonprofits.

As our CEO Tien Tzuo often says, businesses can and should be a force for good. This is why Zuora took the 1% Pledge in 2017 and is proud to make the communities where we live and work stronger.

To help us fulfill this pledge, we launched the Zuora Impact Fund, which makes grants to mission-aligned nonprofits. We have committed $3,000,000 to date and successfully rolled out three different grant programs in 2020:

  • Strategic Grants that aligned with our focus on workforce development and connecting underserved populations to careers in technology
  • Community Impact Grants that funded organizations that were working tirelessly to support those most negatively impacted by COVID-19
  • Employee-driven Grants focused on organizations supported by our global employee population

In 2020, we distributed $872,711 to organizations around the world. Of this $872,711, $550,585 was granted to Bay Area nonprofits to address critical community needs in our hometown.

Adam Welch, Zuora Enterprise Account Executive

I’m so grateful for Zuora for Good, which supported the “Father’s Day Classic” golf tournament I organized to raise awareness to prevent child abuse. The goal of the event was to help inspire fathers in our community to do all that they can to help prevent child abuse, keep their families safe and show empathy and support to others who have been affected by harmful effects of abuse. With Zuora’s support, we donated directly to Prevent Child Abuse Utah, an organization that hosts educational programs to empower children and keep them safe. We had over 150 participants show up and I was honored and grateful to have Zuora’s support.

Saloni Madhok, Zuora Campaign Specialist

I have been passionate about changing lives since childhood, and Zuora for Good provides wonderful opportunities for ZEOs to do this.

Earlier this year when India was struggling with COVID-19’s deadly second wave, leaving hospitals running out of oxygen and the death rate was soaring high, Zuora stood with India. We partnered with the EdelGive Foundation and American Friends of EdelGive Foundation to support the over-exhausted Indian healthcare system, providing relief to migrants and the country’s most vulnerable populations. The campaign was a huge success (raising over $75,000) with contributions from Zuora employees that were combined with the official launch of the Zuora donation match program. Being a part of this campaign and seeing how much the entire company came together to support their fellow colleagues, both in Chennai and the communities across the country, was amazing and made me so proud to work at Zuora!

Charles Jones, Zuora Sr. Solution Delivery Manager

I love that Zuora fosters a culture of giving back. The Zuora Black Network partners with INTech Camp for Girls as they inspire Black and Latina girls to pursue careers in tech. The lack of underrepresented women in tech is an issue I care deeply about, and I appreciate that Zuora makes it easy for me to give back to this cause. It’s been great to see so many Zuora employees step up as mentors and thought partners to InTech Camp and I’m excited about the future of our partnership!

Our team is committed to giving back both in the Bay Area as well as globally. Congratulations to all of the other companies who received this award and we look forward to making an ever bigger impact next year!
