Hear from leaders in the Subscription Economy®
Ken Houseman joined The New York Times in March 2021 and is currently Vice President of Subscription Commerce Product Management. Prior to The New York Times, Mr. Houseman spent 5 years at Nike, leading finance product management teams through Nike’s direct to consumer strategic shift and digital transformation. Before joining Nike, Ken spent 8 years at Oracle; half of that time was focused on the global growth and expansion of Oracle’s cloud quote-to-cash subscription capabilities. He has also held roles in supply chain management at Lam Research (formerly Novellus Systems) and was active duty US Air Force.
Paul Mishkin worked in Chicago’s securities and options trading market for 40 years, before coming to Tennessee in 2013 with the idea of developing a farming-focused real estate investment. He fell in love, as many have, with the region’s temperate climate, rolling hillsides and unpretentious air.
Paul shares, “My own history has taught me that if you find the right people and create the right relationships, amazing things can happen. So, we hired experts across many disciplines: land management, real estate development, farming, hospitality, culinary, spa, landscape design, architecture, interior design, and construction (to name a few). We asked them to dream big, to find ways we could create something new and special. And I believe they’ve not only achieved that vision, but exceeded what we thought was even possible.”
“Southall may have started with our desire to have a farm, but it could not have happened without significant contributions from many other passionate individuals—among them our son David, and daughter Elyse. We have added an incredible team of enthusiastic individuals who are ready to take care of our guests. They are all experts in their fields, and this is a place where they can be their most brilliant selves. We are now able to be guests here and enjoy all that has been accomplished, and we are eager to share it with everyone who walks through our doors.”

Overview of Event
Embrace Modern Business
Businesses are increasingly seeking sustainable growth sources that capitalize on investments in digital transformation, foster direct customer relationships, and help them achieve their innovation objectives. Increasingly, they are modernizing their value propositions, business models, and go-to-market strategies for the 21st century, with customer relationships at the core.
In The World Subscribed, customers prefer to subscribe to the outcomes they want, when they want them, rather than purchasing a product with the burden of ownership. To be successful in this Subscription Economy, you need an approach to doing business that is both customer-centric and future-proof. We call this Modern Business.
Technology as a Tool to Redefine Modern Business
Enterprise architecture establishes the technology standards that deliver the capabilities the business needs to operate, and experiment with metrics. Companies are realizing that the path to growth, going forward, is to establish digital relations with their customer, and monetize those relationships through an ever growing set of digital services that deliver what the customer really wants.
How will you ensure your technology supports your business goals and objectives?
