The Challenge
With the launch of GenIA-L in January 2024, Lefebvre-Dalloz reached a milestone in modernizing its business. By putting generative AI to work for legal professionals, the solution makes the editorial content from the Group’s publishing houses easier to access and use. Building on this progress, the publisher evolved its business model to meet its clients’ new expectations, notably by introducing more flexible recurring billing models.

The Benefits
Zuora Billing gave Lefebvre-Dalloz a flexible billing solution that strengthens the management of its subscriptions and recurring offers, while digitizing the customer journey and accelerating order processing. Now deployed to around 4,000 customers, the Zuora solution is set to cover the entire customer base within the next three years.
In January 2024, Lefebvre-Dalloz, Europe’s leading provider of legal and tax services, launched its generative AI legal service, GenIA-L. As a pioneer in this area, the Group introduced a new, high value-added offering. Spurred by this launch, Lefebvre-Dalloz’s teams began a digital transformation of all their operations, with the goal of increasing their impact for customers and delivering appropriately tailored offerings.
To address these objectives, Lefebvre-Dalloz selected Zuora to modernize its billing. The Zuora Billing solution was deployed to manage contracts associated with the new offerings in a fully digitized and customized way.
Zuora Billing orchestrated the rollout of flexible offerings. The solution also enabled Lefebvre-Dalloz to accelerate new customer activation. Whereas access timelines were previously 24 to 48 hours, users can now access their resources almost instantly after subscribing.
Across the entire process—and continuing today—Lefebvre-Dalloz has benefited from ongoing support from Zuora’s teams and from the experience of the Subscribed Institute, a think tank dedicated to subscription-based business models, which has provided industry expertise and opportunities to share best practices among peers. While Zuora Billing is now deployed for new contracts, Lefebvre-Dalloz plans to extend its use to its entire customer base over the next three years to support growth and strengthen customer retention.
