Zuora allowed Shopkeep to manage all their products, complex billing and global payments on a single platform.

Founded in 2008, Shopkeep provides point of sale (POS) hardware, cloud-based software and payment processing for small and medium-sized businesses in the US, Canada and Guam. The POS system uses an iPad and is widely used by retail stores, restaurants and bars. The company also offers backend technology so merchants can manage their inventory and employees, and track customer purchases and behavior. Last year, as part of a consolidation in the industry, ShopKeep acquired Ambur, a POS for restaurants, food trucks, and bars which brought them 1500 new customers. The company also recently launched ShopKeep Payments, a payment processing solution.

Shopkeep was witnessing fast growth and required help with complex billing for their subscribers such as mixed frequencies, bundling and usage based billing. They wanted a unified, global solution that could help them easily expand as demand grew and allow them to manage all their customers .

Zuora’s subscription management platform was the answer. Built to handle sophisticated subscriptions, Zuora enabled Shopkeep to seamlessly manage their varied businesses, diverse pricing plans, distinct billing and invoicing across different currencies, payment gateways and financial requirements. In just two months, we quickly integrated their newly acquired customers from Ambur, and now all of Shopkeep’s customers are billed through Zuora.

As Shopkeep continues to grow and expand, Zuora has proven to be a trusted partner and advisor. Shopkeep consults us on their most important business decisions and we share subscription management best practices (ranging from pricing strategy, the subscription lifecycle, credit card payment retry rules to REST APIs) that we have gleamed over the years.

The results lie in the numbers. The company has tripled revenue every year for the last three years and raised additional Series C funding in 2014.
