The Diversity Equation: Solutions for Positive Change

Subscribed London 2016, the must-attend conference for the Subscription Economy, will start off with a thought-provoking, inspirational, breakfast session – The Diversity Equation: Solutions for Positive Change. Hosted by Zuora’s Women’s Initiative team, the panel features Kalwant Gill (Founder of Patchwork Quilt Ltd), Suzy Levy (Founder and Managing Director of The Red Plate), Alvina Antar (CIO at Zuora), and Ellie Cosgrave (Doctorate student at Bristol University). The panel will be moderated by Tamsyn Atwell (VP, Global Services EMEA at Zuora).

The panelists will share their thoughts and experiences from their own careers on how to increase diversity in the workplace. An interactive Q&A with the audience will follow. Brief bios of the panelists below:
Kalwant Gill

Gill spent 18 years in senior sales leadership positions in the Corporate Banking and IT sector, before starting her own company – Patchwork Quilt Ltd which offers future of work, inclusion, and collaborative working solutions. Clients include the Harvard Business School, Mercedes Benz, etc

She holds a MSc in Economics, sits on several local sustainability and environmental committees, advises the central government, and is a volunteer writer for the farming and food supplier community.

Suzy Levy

Levy is a coach, executive and public speaker who has two decades of experience delivering major change programmes for multi-national organisations. She is currently Managing Director at The Red Plate, a boutique consulting firm with an aim to make extraordinary ambitions possible, a Non-Executive Director at The Home Office, and a trustee for The Women’s Sport Trust.

Prior to creating The Red Plate, Suzy worked for Accenture and led the strategy and implementation of some of the most progressive inclusion and diversity, employee engagement and talent initiatives in the UK.

Alvina Antar

Alvina Antar, ‘The Subscription Economy CIO’, joined as Zuora’s first ever CIO in 2014 . Antar is a passionate, trusted IT executive and true technology visionary accountable for business empowerment through innovation. Prior to Zuora, she spent 17 years at Dell focused on Digital Transformation, Global Delivery and M&A. Her agile IT strategy fueled by emerging, disruptive technologies challenged traditional ERP and were integral in Dell’s expansion from a hardware to a leading end-to-end solutions provider.

Antar is an inspirational leader who believes that empowered leadership requires strategic vision, infectious energy, genuine humility and constant curiosity. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Houston.

Tamsyn Attiwell

Tamsyn Attiwell, Vice President of Global Services EMEA at Zuora works closely with all business streams including sales & marketing, support, legal and operations. She has developed a strong GS team, strengthened the partner program and is dedicated to ensuring customer success and long-term relationships with an emphasis on Media and VOD implementations.

Attiwell established Zuora’s EMEA philanthropy initiative supporting Muscular Dystrophy locally and Habitat for Humanity, globally.

Ellie Cosgrave

Cosgrave is Director at Science Grrl, a grassroots organisation celebrating and supporting women in science. She’s also a Research Associate at UCL’s department for Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP). Her work, part of the Liveable Cities research programme, focuses on how information technology changing cities across the world.

Cosgrave is passionate about broadening access to Engineering and believes that diversity in Engineering is the cornerstone to solving some of the world’s greatest and most complex challenges.

The breakfast session is open to all conference attendees and begins at 8:30am, Nov 15th at Tobacco Dock.
