Zuora, Inc. Wins 2008 Rising Star Award from CRM Magazine

Zuora’s experience and leadership in SaaS, and the company’s strong early growth, make it an emerging company to watch

(San Francisco, Calif. — August 20, 2008) — Zuora, Inc., formed by Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry veterans from salesforce.com and WebEx to revolutionize the subscription billing industry, announces today they are a winner of a 2008 CRM Market Award in the Rising Star category. The CRM Rising Star Awards recognize vendors that are paving the way in emerging markets with innovative product launches, bold initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, or substantial organizational or product line restructuring.

“It’s a huge honor to receive this recognition by such an influential player in the CRM industry,” said Tien Tzuo, CEO of Zuora and named as a 2004 “Who’s Who in CRM” by CRM Magazine. “We’ve said from the get-go that the world is moving from products to services and Zuora is focused on developing powerful applications to support this movement. This award confirms that our vision is shared by top leaders in the industry.”

This is the seventh annual CRM Market Awards, which honors an array of companies and people in the CRM and related industries including vendors, consultants, and end-user companies. According to CRM Magazine, the winning companies are “Focused on creating and cultivating rewarding customer experiences and relationships through the sophisticated integration of people, processes, and technologies.”

According to the September issue of CRM Magazine Bruce Richardson, chief research officer of AMR Research goes on to say ” If you get a chance to spend 15 minutes or an hour with someone from Zuora to learn about this solution, it will be the most profitable investment of your life.”

Award recipients were determined through an extensive three-month process and proprietary rating formula that involves industry analysts, financial and corporate information, product and functionality assessments, and scores reflecting customer satisfaction. Zuora was selected as a Rising Star Award winner for the company’s sophisticated platform that is proving to be a highly valuable resource to the SaaS world, including CRM companies.

Zuora was founded to create a major shift in how subscription based businesses operate. The company launched their first product Z-Billing, in May 2008 and since then have deployed nearly 20 customers. Z-Billing is the first Web-based billing software of its kind for subscription businesses. The product is built as an on-demand service, putting control and flexibility in the hands of the end user. It allows both business to business and business to consumer companies to quickly launch new products and pricing options, scale operations, and have one central location for all of their recurring revenue data. The user interface of Z-Billing is simple to learn and can be customized per each clients’ individual needs and preferences. Z-Billing is also designed to work seamlessly with the most popular CRM and accounting systems, so users can get started quickly.

An expanded version of the 2008 Market Award results have been published in the September 2008 issue of CRM magazine — available in print and in digital NXTBook format (https://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/crmmedia/crm0908/index.php).
