Stantive Technologies Group Goes Live with Zuora in 30 Days to Drive Commerce for New Force.com Offering

Zuora enables Stantive to take orders, invoice customers and process credit card transactions via AppExchange

Redwood City, CA — March 25, 2010 — Zuora, the first and only cloud-based billing and commerce platform, today announced that Stantive Technologies Group has standardized on Zuora for all aspects of its subscription billing and commerce. After deploying the turnkey Zuora solution in just 30 days, Stantive is now able to completely manage sales, billing and collections processes for its native Force.com application via the AppExchange.

Stantive is an IT company that delivers its customers a strategic mix of consulting services, on-premise IT products and on-demand applications. Over the last seven years, the company has increased its focus on cloud computing and, in 2009, built its first on-demand product, OrchestraCMS, a web content management system that helps companies integrate their Web site with their business.

OrchestraCMS was developed using salesforce.com’s Force.com platform. The cloud platform enabled Stantive to build its application quickly and without any investment in hardware, but the company still needed a way to monetize the solution. With a recommendation from salesforce.com, Stantive CEO Doug Girvin reached out to Zuora — a company founded by former salesforce.com employees to help solve exactly this need.

After considering options in the market, Stantive chose Zuora both for its growing reputation as the leader in on-demand billing and its broad portfolio of billing, payments, storefront, quoting tool and quote to cash solutions. Stantive also appreciated that Zuora is part of the salesforce.com ecosystem, and tightly integrated with AppExchange. On February 18th, 2010, OrchestraCMS went live with the following tweet:

Stantive Technologies Group Inc. New OrchestraCMS.com website live with videos, features and full subscriber management with integrated Zuora e-commerce system.

“Given their heritage, it’s not surprising that Zuora was the only company that truly understood what it requires to take orders off the AppExchange and manage the complexities of selling a software-as-a-service offering,” said Girvin. “From helping our sales team do quote generation on the fly to ensuring we have access to key metrics for back-end reporting, Zuora is fundamental to our long-term success with this and future SaaS offerings we bring to market.”

“Cloud computing has completely changed the pace of building business applications. Our goal at Zuora is to deliver billing and commerce solutions that enable Force.com developers and, for that matter, all cloud computing developers and subscription businesses, to effectively launch new products, invoice customers and collect revenues,” said Tien Tzuo, CEO and co-founder, Zuora. “Stantive is yet another company to join the roster of successful Zuora customers.”
