Scott joined forces with PwC’s Deals Strategy practice, working with private equity firms and portfolio companies. Scott work with sponsors to perform due diligence on new investments, as well as directly with portfolio companies to drive returns from their data strategy and digital transformation efforts.
Over the past 20 years, Scott has been an accomplished CEO, entrepreneur, consultant and board director with a strong track record in public and private companies. A leader at successful companies at every stage: founding through scaling to private company exit as well as IPO. His experience centers on SaaS-based marketing technology, data strategy and digital transformation. He's built company operations across the US, EU and China.
As CEO and founder of Evidon, he raised $26 million in equity from Warburg Pincus, where he had been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence. He built the Evidon and Ghostery brands into dominant Business to Business, and Business to Consumer, software solutions. The investment culminated in two separate, all-cash transactions in 2017 delivering a positive return to shareholders.
During his 8 years at The New York Times Co, he was CEO of About.com during its hyper-growth period, reaching $100 million in revenues and served as General Manager of NYTimes.com. Scott started my technology career running Multex’s business-to-consumer division (acquired by Reuters after an IPO). Early in his career, he was in investment banking at Merrill Lynch & Co. and worked at The Boston Consulting Group.
Scott's pro-bono experience includes serving as interim Chief Digital Advisor to Brown University President Christina Paxson. He's currently the Chairman of Brown University’s Alumni Communications Advisory Council and serve on Brown’s Corporation Committee on Communications, Alumni and External Affairs. Scott's also a Director of Code Nation, a non-profit that teaches coding skills in under-resourced schools in NY, SF and Chicago.
