“Zuora solved all the challenges that we knew we’d have along the way – billing, recurring revenue, invoicing…” – Matt Hansen, VP of Operations

Started in 2012, Pexip is a platform that enables collaboration through the use of video, audio and web communication technologies. At a time when most video tools were hardware based, Pexip wanted to offer a software solution for businesses. As the company prepared to launch, it knew they needed a complete subscription management solution that would support growth.

“We’ve used Zuora from the very beginning. They solved all the challenges that we knew we’d have along the way – billing, recurring revenue, invoicing, all the things that we needed to have for a subscription-based business. We’d looked at some other more traditional ERP vendors but at the end of the day, Zuora had exactly what we needed and that was a complete software subscription management system. And what’s more, it doesn’t require a lot of management from us. The entire Zuora system is run and managed by one person! ” says Matt Hansen, VP of Operations for Pexip.

A key sales strategy for Pexip was to drive market penetration and then growth through partners. They needed a solution that could work with their partner portal and integrate with their backend. Zuora’s seamless integration with Salesforce was important for Pexip. “The key to implementing Zuora with Salesforce was to give our Sales team a single place to go to look up whatever they needed on an order, on a subscription, on an invoice. Since Zuora allows such a seamless integration with salesforce.com, it works very well for us” says Hansen.

Pexip were also looking for a solution that allowed for complex pricing models, and multi-currency transactions for their global business. Built for subscription businesses, Zuora gives them high flexibility and speed to iterate and offer complex pricing options to meet customer demands. Our ability to accept and process payments in over 180 currencies, via more than 20 payment methods and over 20 payment gateways meant that Pexip could take its business anywhere in the world.

“We have different invoice templates that we use based on where the customer is. And different currencies set up for our product catalog. We definitely utilize those features in Zuora and make sure that our customers have the ability to pay and see their invoices in their local currency ” says Hansen.

Today, Pexip has offices in the US, Norway, United Kingdom and China and is poised to expand into the enterprise communications market and continue its extraordinary growth.  “I like to say that we grew up with Zuora.” says Hansen.
