Team & Role

The Zuora University team is a nimble, highly efficient group responsible for delivering product training to our customers, partners and employees. We’re collaborative (but still expect each other to own our respective projects); passionate about learning (but realize we must balance time-to-market with perfection); open to giving and receiving honest feedback (but are always kind) so that, in the end, we deliver the highest quality product.  

We’re seeking a Data Analyst to manage data from different applications and sources and be able to clean, organize, transform, and visualize that data to support business KPIs. Essentially, this role will ensure we have a complete understanding of our business based on our KPIs and comprehensive tracking of all metrics required to run our subscription based business model. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detailed multi-tasker who partners with colleagues to achieve deliverables. 

Specific responsibilities include:

Manage BI Tools/Systems

  • Migrate developed content to various environments and maintain order in production environment (organization, scheduling, etc.)Strategy / Business Development/Consulting / Support
  • Partner with ZU Head, LMS administrator, and IT teams to understand data/reporting needs
  • Clean, transform, and report on business KPIs
  • Communicate updates to team head regularly, informing of progress and/or resetting expectations accordingly
  • Develop automated reporting and dashboard solutions for customers using BI intermediate/advanced tools
  • Collaborate with assigned application users to understand operational workflows and technology related challenges
  • Apply conceptual knowledge, analytical methods and problem solving skills to identify innovative information technology solutions. Analyze application and business data to identify trends/areas for improvement and propose appropriate recommendations
  • Assist in the ongoing development of technical best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing, data security and privacy.
  • Provide as-needed development support and mentoring for Zuora University team members
  • Prepare data from cloud data sources (Salesforce, Workday, AWS, Skilljar, etc.) and in-network data warehouses using cloud ETL

Advanced Analytics

  • Must be comfortable working with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) to build self-serve reports
  • Assist in designing the dashboard solutions including KPIs, drill-down capabilities for customers, partners, and employees using BI advanced analytic tools.
  • Partner with ZU Head to understand requirements and then design and develop meaningful interactive dashboards for over 10,000 users using a variety of tools including Power BI, DOMO, Tableau.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, data science, business or other related area and 5 or more years of related work experience to include 2 years’ experience in data analytics or data management; or an equivalent combination of experience/training
  • Experience working with large data sets from complex reporting platforms, including Oracle, and SQL Server
  • Proficient in standard business applications, (e.g. Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Experience in SaaS a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and convey main ideas that impact operational decisions
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to less-technical users
  • Ability to gather requirements effectively; document requirements and confirm observations with business owners.
  • Ability to perform fit/gap analysis based on requirements.
  • Ability to execute on business/technical requirements and build multi-purpose interactive dashboard solutions
  • Adaptable and demonstrates good judgment
