Zephr, a Zuora Company 

Newly acquired by Zuora, Zephr’s platform powers nearly eight billion requests a month and dynamic, personalised subscriber experiences. When combined with data from Zuora’s Billing, Collect, and Revenue systems – the resulting solution will empower companies across industries, especially media, to nurture and monetize their subscriber relationships by better understanding their behaviours, experimenting with the right digital offerings, and optimising their digital experiences.


The Team & Role

As a Sales Development Representative, you are our first touch with potential clients, responsible for researching new prospects and buyers, analysing their needs and communicating the benefits of our product to them in order to drive new business.

Joining Zephr as an SDR, you’ll be given the opportunity to develop and use essential business development skills that will help you to establish your career and grow professionally within the sales function.  Embracing the spirit of a “SaaS” (software as a service) business, you will directly contribute to our success, collaborating with a  wide range of other departments to give you a broad understanding of what it takes to grow the Zephr business group. 


In this role you’ll get to

  • Utilise CRM, cold calling, email and social selling to generate new sales opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with AE's to establish a territory and successfully create a “plan-of-action”, including targeting companies, targeting prospects and messaging
  • Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate solutions 
  • Respond, engage and qualify inbound leads and inquiries
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Book qualification calls with prospects to identify opportunities
  • Set up discovery calls between (prospective) customers and sales executives
  • Report to sales manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results
  • Consistently achieve a monthly quota of qualified opportunities


Who we’re looking for

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, organisational skills, and attention to detail across your work.
  • Social media skills, to connect and engage with prospects across a variety of channels from Linkedin to Twitter
  • Empathy, to understand your prospects and they ways in which they may prefer to communicate with you
  • Internal discipline and grit, keeping up a regular cadence of outreach to hundreds of prospects a week and stepping up to the challenges you face along the way
  • Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member
  • Good ability to think on your feet and answer questions from prospects that you may not be ready for.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management software (CRMs) eg. Hubspot
  • Copywriting experience
  • Experience in an SDR or customer service role (>6 months).
  • A test-learn-iterate mentality.
