Systems Administrator Job Description

Role Location: Chennai

The Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) Systems Administrator will support our internal Zuora application stack–yes, we use our own products!–and users on our global Sales, Deal Desk, Billing Operations, Revenue, and Collections teams. Reporting to our Quote-to-Cash Applications Product Owner, you will work directly with our team of Business Systems Analysts, Developers, and end-users to help make Zuora the best user of our own products.

As we are a global company and support users across multiple time zones, you may be asked to work 'on-call' or on a rotational shift basis. This could include weekends, but typically only during quarter-ends. 



  • Support Q2C end-users with Quoting, Billing, Revenue, and Collect questions, requests, incidents, and problems
  • Plan for- and respond to- upgrades, outages, and other incidents
    • Troubleshoot problems reported by users by analyzing and isolating issues
    • Monitor SLAs, alerts, logs, and exception reports
    • Communicate downtime and disruptions
  • Collaborate with Zuora IT SMEs on various projects to improve Quote-to-Cash operations and processes. This could include assistance with the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of new functionality.
  • Maintain data integrity within Quote to Cash systems, working closely with Data and Dev Teams
    • Understand the data flows between Salesforce/Zuora Billing & Revenue/NetSuite
    • Assist with data cleansing and data maintenance efforts
  • Ensure systems availability, especially during critical month-end processing
  • Configure and maintain applications, including product catalog price lists, pricing rules/matrices, approval criteria, and contract templates based on solution design specifications
  • Coordinate sandbox refreshes
  • Maintain documentation
  • Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to policies and procedures

What we're looking for:

  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Strong English communication skills, with ability communicate with business partners of varying levels of expertise
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise with Zuora Billing, Revenue, Collect and/or CPQ products
  • Experience with Quote-to-Cash processes at SaaS companies
  • Intermediate understanding of Excel functions such as: IF, VLOOKUP, Index, Pivot Tables etc.
  • Must be customer-focused and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience promoting changes across development, test, and production environments

A plus if you have:

  • Zuora Billing Administrator certification
  • Salesforce (Lightning) experience
  • Salesforce Administrator certification
  • Experience with process automation using Zuora Workflow
  • Expertise in data integration and data validation 
  • Knowledge with Mail merges, Syntax and Zuora invoice and email templates
  • Previous experience with ZOQL queries and Zuora API
  • Experience with Service Cloud, Jira, & Confluence
  • Experience with Avalara, NetSuite & payment gateways
  • Familiarity with accounting, especially GAAP & ASC 606 knowledge
