OUR VISION: THE WORLD. SUBSCRIBED.

Customers have changed. They’re looking for new ways to engage with businesses. Consumers today have a new set of expectations. They want outcomes, not ownership. Customization, not generalization. Constant improvement, not planned obsolescence.

In the old world (let’s call it the Product Economy) it was all about things. Acquiring new customers, shipping commodities, billing for one-time transactions. But in today’s new era, it’s all about relationships. More and more customers are becoming subscribers because subscription experiences built around services meet consumers’ needs better than the static offerings or a single product.

Our vision is “The World Subscribed” where one day every company will be a part of the Subscription Economy® (a phrase coined by our CEO, Tien Tzuo and author of the best selling book Subscribed).

As consumers wave goodbye to ownership, join us as we help companies win on their journey to usership!

THE TEAM

ZEO Success is Zuora’s people-centered organization, inclusive of our Business Partners, Learning & Organizational Effectiveness, Internal Comms & Engagement, Total Rewards, HRIS, HR Operations & Analytics, and Recruiting teams. Our mission is to make Zuora the destination for top talent to thrive and do their best work building The World Subscribed. We do this by putting people first and cultivating an inclusive, innovative and collaborative culture that enables all ZEOs, Zuora and our customers to be wildly successful.

YOUR MISSION

You will lead Zuora’s global compensation strategy by assessing, implementing, communicating, and administering cutting-edge, market-competitive executive and broad-based compensation for our ZEOs. You will share an innate passion for providing “white glove” employee solutions and support, in addition to being a key compensation expert to our business partners and leadership team. Your stakeholders will benefit from the meaningful thought leadership, insights, and masterful execution you provide as a key pillar of what attracts and engages top talent in an organization growing to $1B in revenue.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Director, Global Compensation is a pivotal role on the Total Rewards, HRIS, and People Operations leadership team. You will have the freedom to synthesize, analyze, and uncover unique trends and ideas, which you translate into actionable recommendations for leaders across the organization. You will partner with and learn from ZEO Success leaders, business leaders, and our executive team to build buy-in for your recommendations. This role is for you if you are a motivated self-starter who thrives in the opportunity to innovate. You will embody our unique culture and become the “ZEO” of your own Zuora experience. At the end of the day, you will be a central pillar to why ZEOs join Zuora – and why they stay!

  • Provide proactive thought leadership to the business and across the ZEO Success (HR) team as it relates to executive and broad-based compensation best practices, especially to attract and retain A+ talent in a competitive & dynamic labor market

  • Partner closely with Legal to prepare materials for our Board of Directors/Compensation Committee meetings, 10-K, and proxy filings
  • Lead compensation benchmarking analyses and salary structure refreshes, in partnership with business leaders, HRBPs, and Recruiting to generate pay insights and recommendations for new and existing roles in the business
  • Design, implement, and administer variable pay programs across various business segments
  • Maintain and enhance existing (and new!) compensation administration processes, including merit and bonus cycles, compensation linkages to promotions, and salary and equity guidelines
  • Nurture strong relationships with key partners, including our ZEO Success Partners (HRBPs), Stock Administration, Finance, Legal, Tax, and Payroll

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 8+ years of direct compensation experience, 5+ of which includes people leadership
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, CCP certifications a plus; Workday experience preferred
  • Ability to efficiently manipulate large amounts of data and tell a story with data using Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets), Google Slides, Google Docs, and related tools
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company, with a track record of building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter with high intellect, excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, and strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize competing tasks
  • A commitment to ‘think big’, use data to drive strategy, and challenge the status quo
