Zuora’s engineering team is focused on building and delivering world class SaaS Products and Services for our customers. We’re also tackling some really cool technical infrastructure and platform capabilities, efforts that have previously resulted in multiple technology patents. We run primarily on a distributed, microservices architecture transformed from our original monolithic codebase allowing for easy customization and extension of our products by our entire engineering group, as well as customers and partners. We have made a strong commitment to building services and tools that make it easy (and fun) for developers to build and deploy their own services, including a centralized system for provisioning and maintaining Jenkins build servers as well as an innovative command-line tool that leverages Terraform and AWS APIs to provide a simple, consistent way to provision and deploy infrastructure and services to AWS. In addition, we don’t just want to build quickly, we want to build quality. We have a commitment to scalability and quality as a part of our “Engineering DNA”.


  • Be on an on-call (PagerDuty) rotation to respond to incidents that impact Zuora’s products and services availability, and provide leadership and drive restoration outcomes  for service engineers with customer incidents.
  • Drive and co-ordinate the critical impacting issues bridges and collaboration to root cause & restoration.
  • Use your on-call shift to prevent incidents from ever happening.
  • Run our infrastructure with Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, GIT CI/CD, Jenkins, ECS, and Kubernetes.
  • Incorporate feedback from incidents back into monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages.
  • Work with engineering teams on maintaining and improving runbooks, including documenting cases where runbooks are missing and needed.
  • Support and maintain core infrastructure that enables Zuora scale to support all of our customer’s needs.
  • Help debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.


  • You bring your excellent communication, problem solving, critical thinking & passion to the table each day to disrupt, make impact & rewrite the rulebook
  • You have experience in one or more Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with the following operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • Experience supporting storage and networking subsystems (AWS and Azure)
  • Experience with automation sub-systems (Shell, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, Terraform, ECS, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in infrastructure services (DNS, Mail Relays, NTP, CDN, SSL Certificates)
  • Experience running and leading command center bridges
  • Experience driving Incident issues to isolation and alignment with the corresponding service
  • 3+ years of experience
