The role

We’re looking for a Product Management Director with deep domain expertise and technical know-how to drive the business process management (BPM, Workflow) pillar of Zuora’s Platform. You will shape how customers use the Zuora Platform to transform and automate their key order-to-revenue business processes.  

In this role, you will define how the Platform allows business users to build and extend Zuora applications with low and no-code graphical modeling tools instead of custom code, bringing greater agility to our customers in extending Zuora functionality. You will develop a deep understanding of how customers use the Platform to carry out both the automated and human activities that make up their subscription order-to-revenue lifecycle.   

You are a product owner who is passionate about customer success, has a critical eye for detail and usability, and is obsessed with measuring and delivering customer value. As a leader in our organization, you’ll help us develop and execute the strategic vision and product roadmap for our Platform, cultivating external partnerships and a developer community, and collaborating with amazing engineering teams.  

What you'll do and achieve

  • Define an inspiring vision for the future state of business process management and workflow in the Zuora Platform that empowers our customers and partners to easily integrate, customize and extend our applications 
  • Be the domain expert in applying BPM functionality to automate customer processes, transform their businesses, and orchestrate user tasks.
  • Partner with Engineering to drive world-class execution of the product roadmap, including defining our platform architecture and standards for business processes and workflow; harnessing test and data-driven approaches; and delivering high-quality, high-impact work
  • Engage in strategic discussions with partners and customers to provide technical and expert guidance on the best ways to build using our Platform 
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes by defining, documenting, prioritizing, and communicating market needs and customer requirements
  • Work with Product Marketing to develop a clear and compelling Marketing Strategy for our Platform, including building awareness of our unique Platform capabilities; develop the pricing and packaging strategy
  • Build a strong external presence and be an external evangelist for our platform vision, technology, and product roadmap, influencing: our customer developer community, industry analysts and key partners, including leading system integrators and ISVs
  • Be an internal evangelist for our platform capabilities to ensure they are part of everything we do, including ensuring the adoption of platform capabilities by internal teams; supporting the platform vision across internal product roadmaps

What you’ll need to be successful

  • 8-10 years experience in product management with demonstrated success driving product initiatives in BPM/Workflow and no/low-code developer tooling in a B2B SaaS, PaaS or IaaS company, with specific experience focused on delivering developer platforms and composite applications
  • Technical expertise in the following areas: workflow management, service orchestration and choreography, process optimization and analysis
  • Experience with BPM standards such as BPMN, XPDL, WS-BPEL
  • In-depth knowledge of process-oriented platforms and products from other software vendors
  • Deep empathy for developers as well as building amazing experiences that enable them to thrive
  • Developer background with a player-coach mentality that enables you to roll up your sleeves and dig in alongside the engineering teams
  • Skilled at partnering with VP and C-level executives in driving business decision-making and product road mapping 
  • Ability to combine both internal user data and consumer insights to help map the product experience
  • Ability to complement all decisions with supportive analytics and test/measure performance
  • Known for taking ownership of the outcomes through working with others and stay accountable to actions
