Zuora is looking for a skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting team. You will have the opportunity to leverage Zuora’s order-to-revenue capabilities for modern businesses.  Responsibilities will include all day to day activities in the revenue process including contract review for compliance with Zuora’s revenue recognition policy, monthly revenue close, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, and audit and SOX support.  You will also participate in the order-to-cash process with Deal Desk, Business Technology, Zuora Revenue support, and Billing operations.  This is a critical role in a growing team and requires an exceptional performer.  The successful candidate will be able to learn new processes quickly, adapt to ever-changing priorities, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively across multiple functions with a special focus on system improvements and subscription services revenue. This position reports directly to the Revenue Accounting Manager.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that revenue is recognized in accordance with corporate policy under ASC-606
  • Staying current on revenue recognition guidance and raising interpretations of guidance with respect to company revenue policy
  • Participating in all aspects of the revenue close, including creating journal entries and performing reconciliations
  • Analyzing revenue trends specifically for our subscription revenue stream and partnering with FP&A to clearly explain our results
  • Understanding the end-to-end quote-to-cash process and data flows and recommending process improvements
  • Working closely with Business Technology and Zuora Revenue Support teams to drive system improvements and efficiencies
  • Preparing SSP studies and analysis
  • Preparing external auditor deliverables
  • Assisting in the execution and maintenance of our internal controls specifically focused on subscription revenue processes and voicing process improvements to drive change in the organization
  • Assist in special projects 

What you will need to be successful:

  • 2-4 years of revenue recognition experience, preferably with Big 4 Public Accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition US GAAP
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office software and Google Apps
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent analytical skills
  • Experience using Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue (RevPro) is a plus
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) and NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Experience with Python or SQL is a plus
