Arun Venkataraman represents Zuora as a Director of Customer Support, having joined the company one year ago. He has vast experience in supporting monthly/quarterly close processes for all types of businesses across domains. Arun lives in Chennai, India, with his wife and two children.
1.What are your duties at Zuora?
As a senior leader for Zuora’s India operations, my focus areas are customer support and QA functions. My major duties include ensuring customer needs are fulfilled, building high-profile, cross-functional teams, managing change to people, process and technology to streamline internal operations.
2.What did you do prior to joining the company?
Prior to joining Zuora, I served as a Senior Manager for IT Applications Support at VMware. I was responsible for global support operations for internal customers and drove transformational initiatives for operational excellence.
3.How does your job help Zuora reach its goals?
My core priorities are increasing the efficiency through streamlining operations. I’m constantly looking through every opportunity to enhance effectiveness in our people, processes and system. I help to inject customer feedback into streamlining RevPro product stability by fixing underlying issues and problems.
4.Would you please walk us through a typical workday for you?
Every day is an opportunity to experiment on something new. What gets measured gets improved. I track the operational dashboard to review the pointers to proactively take steps to assist our customers. A lot of different areas of focus to bring out the best of my team and to delight customers.
5.If you could say one thing to our customers and potential customers about what we do, what would that be?
At Zuora, we make it very easy to do business with us and exceed your expectations. We understand our customers and built RevPro to be flexible and configurable to meet your unique requirements resulting in the fact that a lot of top tier companies trust RevPro.
6.What are your hobbies outside work?
Reading books, fun with kids at free time, go to places and eating out with family. I’m active in social media and interested in cricket, football and chess.
7.Let’s hear something about yourself people would find surprising.
I live in Chennai with my wife and two children. On my birthday everyone celebrates the new year! I like listening to music and go for long drives. My favorite trips are Chennai to Kochi and Bangalore to Goa.
8.What is your favorite part of your role here at Zuora?
Experimenting with new ideas and innovations. Inspiring and motivating the team and driving to bring the best out of their deliverables.
