Tien Tzuo, Founder and CEOTien Tzuo joined Zuora after 9 years at salesforce.com. Tien was one of the “original forces” at salesforce.com, which he joined in 1999 as the 11th employee, when the company was still operating out of a house on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. In his 9 years at salesforce.com, Tien built salesforce.com’s original billing system and held a variety of executive roles in salesforce.com’s technology, marketing, and strategy organizations, including building out the product management & marketing organization, serving as Chief Marketing Officer for two years, and most recently as Chief Strategy Officer.
Tien personally oversaw the vision, direction, and design of the first 17 releases of salesforce.com’s award winning product line, including overseeing the launch of salesforce.com and the AppExchange. In 2004, Tien was named CMO of the Year Finalist by the CMO Council and BusinessWeek Magazine. Tien is also widely recognized as one of the thought leaders in the software-as-a-service industry. His podcast on the Secrets of Salesforce is widely cited and has been downloaded over 250,000 times since it was first published.
Prior to salesforce.com, Tien was at CrossWorlds Software, where he launched CrossWorlds' Telecommunications business unit focused on integration with billing systems such as Portal, Kenan, Amdocs, and MetaSolv, and at Oracle Corporation where he managed several of Oracle's largest Telecommunications accounts, including MCI, NYNEX, Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), and AT&T. Tien holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a master’s in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. |

Shawn Price, President and General ManagerShawn Price joined Zuora’s executive management team as President and General Manager. Price holds an aggressively diverse background of more than 20 years experience transforming companies of all sizes and stages to industry leaders and driving several companies to IPO and successful acquisitions.
Before Price’s appointment to Zuora’s management team, he was sought out by top venture capital firms to drive leadership and strategy in operations, finance, and M&A to companies such as, Clairmail, Provade and many more.
As CEO, President and Chairman of the Board at Savvion, the global leader in business process management, Price was responsible for all strategic and operational functions of the company. Under his leadership Savvion grew in excess of 100% quarter over quarter, secured 300 of the Global 1000, launched the company’s international operations with operating subsidiaries in India, and was the recipient of the Deloitte Fast 50 Award.
Before Savvion, Price was Senior Vice President and General Manager Americas at Vitria where he oversaw 75 percent of revenues since the company’s founding. Price led the most successful IPO of 1999, grew the company revenues from zero to $135 million and created Vitria’s breakout Telecom strategy that resulted in a $10 billion market cap.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. In broader circles, Shawn is known as a winner of several driving races including the 2002 Baja 1000 and the 2005 Rolex 24-Hours at Daytona International Sports Car Race. |

K. V. Rao, Founder and Chief StrategistK. V. founded Zuora after five years at WebEx Communications where he reported directly to the founder and President with strategic marketing and business development responsibilities and played a key role in the growth of this successful start-up. Prior to WebEx, K. V. worked in sales and customer support at SGI. He started his career as the proverbial rocket scientist (Associate Scientist) at NASA and then spent several years developing products at General Motors. K. V. obtained his Ph. D. in Engineering from Iowa State University, an M. S. from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and a B. Tech from IIT, Bombay. K.V is a US patent-holder in computing technology. |

Cheng Zou, Founder and CTOCheng is a veteran of several enterprise software companies with a track record of architecting and building highly reliable and scalable software products. At WebEx, Cheng architected and led the implementation of its order-to-cash OSS system that manages order entry, contract management, order provisioning, rating and billing, and customer accounts. Before WebEx, Cheng was co-founder and CTO of BeyondWork, where he architected its employee reward and recognition solution that is still being used several years later. Cheng’s prior experience includes stints at Postini, Annuncio Software, Remedy, Oracle, and Plexus Software in senior development roles. Cheng obtained his M. S. in Computer Science from Indiana University, and a B. S. degree from Beijing University. |

Gary Hagmueller, CFOGary Hagmueller is the Chief Financial Officer for Zuora, Inc. and brings an extensive background in subscription management, billing and financial operations. Hagmueller has worked in a variety of software, telecom and ecommerce companies in executive roles. Having helped raise and manage nearly $100MM in venture and debt funding, he has been a frequent presenter on topics such as financial best practices for emerging technology firms, subscriber valuation, fundraising for startups and growth-company business planning.
Prior to joining Zuora, Hagmueller was CFO of KnowNow, a Kleiner Perkins backed enterprise software firm where he raised over $17MM in funding, managed the firm's G&A functions and drove corporate development. Prior to KnowNow, Hagmueller was VP of finance and operations for Vinfolio, where he built the infrastructure that took the firm from pre-revenue to market leader in collectible wine software, service and e-commerce. He also served as senior director of finance for RouteScience Technologies, a Benchmark / Sequoia backed adaptive routing software developer. Hagmueller was also the director of corporate development for NorthPoint Communications, as well as held various business and corporate development roles at GTE, Verizon, and Pacific Bell.
Hagmueller received an MBA in Finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, where he was named Sheth Fellow at the Center for Communications Management. He also holds a bachelor's degree with honors in Business from Arizona State University. |

Elizabeth Tse, Vice President of Customer OperationsAfter serving as a Zuora advisor for two years, Elizabeth Tse joined the management team as Vice President of Customer Operations. Elizabeth brings over 20 years of global experience in ecommerce and financial services at eBay, Providian Financial (now Chase) and American Express.
While at eBay, the world’s largest online marketplace, Elizabeth was responsible for overseeing worldwide billing, payments and collections operations. During her tenure, she was the driving force behind the implementation of the most advanced billing, payment processing & collections systems in the ecommerce industry. As quoted by Maynard Webb, COO of eBay, Elizabeth “Turned the neglected collections and billing operations teams from a pain point to a source of pride.”
At both Providian Financial and American Express, Elizabeth held several executive positions, proving her leadership in Customer Management & Operations within the financial services industry.
Tse holds a BA from Yale University and a MBA from Cornell University. While at Yale she received the Branford College Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Community. She also received the Henny Wittink Marketing Prize for top marketing student while at Cornell. |

Steve Martello, Vice President of Professional ServicesSteve Martello joined Zuora’s executive team to head all customer implementations worldwide, across emerging and enterprise businesses. Steve is a seasoned and proven executive that has a history of maximizing business growth, leading successful internal integrations upon mergers and acquisitions and establishing lasting customer relationships. His effective methodologies, best practices and enthusiasm directly aligns with Zuora’s commitment to customer success in a rapidly growing and industry leading business.
Before joining Zuora, Steve was making waves at Interwoven as the SVP of Client Services where his efforts represented 60% of their revenue. Over his 7 year tenure, Steve became responsible for a worldwide Client Services team of 250 persons and was the key executive responsible for successfully resolving critical account issues and delivering improved customer satisfaction. His proven success within consulting, training and support grew client services’ revenue more than 200%.
Prior to Interwoven, Steve managed Scient’s worldwide professional services delivery, and created their US engineering center. His proven strategies drove customer revenue while reducing customer costs.
Before that, Steve spent 17 years at IBM holding various executive positions, including running the engineering and product marketing teams in New York, North Carolina, and Texas. His most recent title while at IBM was Vice President of Development for IBM's Global Insurance and Public Sector Industries.
Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in science and a master’s in Educational Psychology and Statistics from SUNY Albany as well as a master’s in computer science from Union College. |
